Fan drawing

I like to look for objects that have a variety of forms and qualities within them, I like to draw objects that are not championed by my culture; so much resources, time and money goes into creating, purchasing, maintaining and running objects yet they are often seen as temporary and disposable.

I expect that more energy goes into the the life span of a modern electric saw than into an old wooden-handled saw, the true can be said of the electric fan; drawing these often overlooked objects gets a further use out of them. Many of these functional objects are being designed with aesthetic considerations in mind, I find that this often has the effect of making them more difficult to draw, less interesting, less able to grab my attention. I do not think this fan is too designed, its function still outweighs its need for functionality, this ensure a degree of visual interest associated with its functional parts, I believe being able to visually describe an objects functionality in a visual way helps describe its personality.
